Benchmarking

Benchmarking – that is, comparing with the competition
It allows us to evaluate the company against the competition and improve ourselves in order to dominate the market.
Goal: „To be better than the best of the competitors”
How: Compare the following:
– Products (services provided to external and internal recipients
– Processes (economic processes in all divisions)
– People (organization, culture, human potential)

The comparison process is organized in five steps:
1. Decide what will be compared.
2. Selecting competitors who are the best in a given field.
3. Choosing the best assessment measure.
4. Identifying the strengths of the competition and evaluating them against your own results (are they better? If so, how much?).
5. Develop an action plan.
